The North Face descended upon Kansas City August 27th, 2011, to start a new tradition on the Plaza in Kansas City. Generally known for trail racing events, The North Face brought a new road race starting in Frank A Theis Park. Distances offered were 50k, marathon, half marathon, 10k, 5k and a kid 0.1 mile fun run. Whatever your distance, they had an option for you!



To make up for being a road race, organizers managed to find every hill around the Plaza and put the course on them. Runners were met with steep grades, rising temperatures and Dean Karnazes.



The 50k was run on Saturday cheap north face morning starting at 6am. Close to 100 brave souls took to the inaugural distance and below are the top 3 for male and female.
