United Way drive kickoff is Saturday

The United Way of Randolph County will kickoff its annual fundraising drive Saturday, Sept. 18 in conjunction with the A Taste of Randolph County food, arts and crafts festival.

Local United Way Executive Director Barbara Armstrong said they will have booth in front their office on Franklin St.

"We will have an Indianapolis Colts prize drawing from people who make donations during The Taste," Armstrong said. "The winner will receive a Colts jacket and tickets to the Colts Jaguars game. The drawing will be at the festival's conclusion.

"We will also give away free lemonade in Live United the north face outlet online stadium cups. Agencies supported by the United Way will be represented."

One of several local agencies to receive funding through contributions to the United Way is the Randolph Youth Leadership Council.

The Youth Leadership Council each year selects six local students to attend Town Meeting on Tomorrow in St. Louis, Mo. They use United Way money to help pay for student transportation to and from and lodging during the 4day town meeting.
